2007 Bentley Arnage

For 2007, the Bentley Arnage receives a power boost: the R and RL models increase from 400 hp to 450 hp, and from 616 lb-ft of torque to 645 lb-ft; while the T rises from 456 hp to 500 hp, and from 616 lb-ft to 738 lb-ft. In the T, The previous four-speed automatic transmission is now replaced with a six-speed.

As a result, top speed on the R and RL rises to 270 km/h, while the T increases to 288 km/h.

All models now include a tire pressure monitoring system, Bluetooth integrated telephone system, new wheel, new exterior paint and interior trim options, and an optional retractable “Flying B” mascot. The RL long-wheelbase model receives a rear centre armrest bottle cooler, veneered rear centre console, rear master telephone system and backup camera.

All Arnage models use a 6.8-litre V8 with twin turbochargers, mated to a four-speed automatic in the R and RL, and a new six-speed automatic in the T.

Standard equipment on each Arnage includes Connolly leather interior, Wilton carpets, 18-inch wheels with Pirelli low-profile tires, automatic climate control, a DVD-based satellite navigation system, electrically-adjustable heated seats, cruise control and parking sensors front and rear.

The T receives 19-inch, seven-spoke wheels. As each Arnage is built to a customer’s specifications, individual options and interior equipment will be different on each vehicle: over half are further modified by Bentley Mulliner, the company’s coachbuilder.

Although it’s still based on a reengineered Rolls-Royce platform, the Arnage has been moving away from its role as a Rolls clone, and now has a personality all its own. The R and its stretched RL sibling receive softer springs and a cushier ride. The extra horsepower of the T is sent to the asphalt through a firmer setup that makes for a huge, luxurious car that can handle challenging road courses with ease.
